Ryan started his training later in life. Before gymnastics, his first fitness endeavor was in high school, becoming a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and immersing himself in jiu-jitsu and boxing. He got his first experience with gymnastics in college when his curiosity led him to taking a beginning gymnastics class. The experience brought him out of his shell as he proceeded to transition into social dancing and joining a team which would lead to performances in salsa and cha cha.
Ryan joined the military after college where he focused mainly on weight and strength training, though he was able to casually train in hip hop, which led to him choreographing a couple of workout routines. Ryan has moved 5 times with the military in the last 9 years, but was finally able to consistently train at a gym in Anchorage, Alaska where he developed his tumbling, ninja strength, aerial silks, and aerial straps skills before moving to San Antonio in 2020 and diving head first into developing his gymnastics, aerial arts, dance, and cheer repertoire.
Having not started his gymnastics, dance, and cheer experience until he was an adult, one of Ryan's biggest goals is to expose as many people, young and old, to the excitement, joy, and rush gymnastics, dance, and cheer gives you and to show that it's never too late to start training!
